| ABOUT OUR SYMPOSIA |
Since 1997, Le Jacq has been producing a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) sponsored series of symposia on hypertension titled Update on the Management of Hypertension.
Over 35 symposia have been held across the United States and in Puerto Rico with attendance ranging from 50 to more than 300 physicians.* Prestigious medical schools in the sponsor cities co-sponsor the symposia with the NHLBI. The attendees can receive Continuing Medical Education credits provided by the National Institutes of Health and arranged by Le Jacq. Attendee feedback surveys consistently grade the production as "Excellent."
Le Jacq has recruited more than 75 renowned physician speakers to participate in this series, overseen by Marvin Moser, MD. At the conclusion of the symposia, Le Jacq has organized roundtable discussions among the speakers, resulting in the publication of enduring materials in The Journal of Clinical Hypertension®. |

| SYMPOSIA MISSION |
| The Update on the Management of Hypertension symposia provide the following educational information and treatment criteria and goals to attendees:
| |
• |
Hypertension can in fact be effectively treated through behavior modification and pharmacology.
| |
• |
Achieving a goal blood pressure of below 140/90 mm Hg, or even lower in diabetics or patients with renal disease, is achievable in a high percentage of patients.
| |
• |
Controlling hypertension reduces morbidity and mortality.
| |
• |
Many more than the present level of 25%–30% of affected patients can be controlled at all goal levels.
| |
• |
Better adherence to treatment goals by physicians as well as patients will improve treatment results.
| |
• |
Updates on newer studies and clinical trials are presented.
